HVAC Pricing Guide: What It Actually Costs in 2026

These are all in real installed dollars, parts and labor included, for typical single family residential work. We do not do commercial HVAC.

How HVAC Pricing Actually Works

Three things decide your final number. Once you understand them, the ranges above make sense.

1. Equipment size and efficiency - A 2 ton AC unit is cheaper than a 5 ton unit. A 14 SEER2 system is cheaper than a 20 SEER2 system. Bigger homes and higher efficiency cost more up front but cool faster and run cheaper monthly.

2. Local labor and permit costs - San Jose and Richmond labor rates run 30 to 60 percent higher than Jacksonville or Magna. Permits are required in most California cities for new installations and condenser change outs. Florida requires permits for most AC replacements. Utah cities generally require mechanical permits for furnace swaps.

3. Site conditions - A second floor air handler in a tight attic costs more to replace than one in a garage. Rooftop units in Bakersfield cost more than side yard units. Older homes with aging ductwork often need duct repairs or sealing, which adds $400 to $2,500 depending on scope.

Costs By City

Use the quick links below to jump to your area. Every city page breaks down the exact services that get searched most in that market.

Rebates, Tax Credits, and Financing in 2026

The federal Section 25C tax credit for high efficiency HVAC expired at the end of 2025, so most homeowners cannot claim the 30 percent federal credit on new systems installed in 2026. State and utility rebates are still alive in all three states we serve. We always check what you qualify for before quoting.

  • Florida: Duke Energy, JEA, and FPL offer rebates from $50 to $500 for qualifying heat pump and high efficiency AC installations. Florida Public Service Commission

  • California: TECH Clean California offers heat pump and heat pump water heater rebates. PG&E and Southern California Edison run their own incentive programs. TECH Clean California

  • Utah: Rocky Mountain Power and Dominion Energy offer rebates for high AFUE furnaces and ENERGY STAR rated systems. Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart program

We offer financing through our lending partners with terms from 12 months same as cash up to 120 months. Approval is typically same day.

Why Transparent Pricing Matters

When an HVAC company refuses to share any numbers online, they are usually hoping to use pressure selling once the technician is standing in your living room. We publish our ranges because we want you to be informed before we show up. Every quote we give is in writing, every job starts after you sign, and we never charge extra for showing up after hours or on weekends.

Our team will handle the installation process, ensuring a seamless and professional setup. Ductless mini splits offer zoned cooling, energy efficiency, and easy installation, making them a popular choice for many homeowners. Experience the benefits of ductless cooling with our expert installation services.

Most HVAC websites will not put a single price in writing. We will. This guide lays out real 2026 cost ranges for every service we offer, in every city we serve, so you can plan your budget before you pick up the phone.

All ranges below reflect typical residential pricing pulled from current market data in each local area. Your final quote depends on the age of your equipment, the size of your home, the brand installed, and how fast you need us out there. We always confirm the exact price in writing before any work starts.
