- Florida: Duke Energy, FPL and JEA have offered heat pump rebates.

When a Heat Pump Is the Smart Choice
Strong candidates:
- You currently have electric strip heat (a big efficiency upgrade)
- Your gas furnace is over 15 years old and your AC is over 10 years old
- You live in Florida, Southern California or Southern Utah, where winters are mild
- You have solar panels (heat pumps pair well with solar)
Weaker candidates:
- A cold winter climate with cheap natural gas (a dual fuel system is usually better)
- Your current gas furnace is less than 8 years old and working fine
- Your home is poorly insulated (fix that first)
What Every Heat Pump Installation Includes
Heat pumps are more sensitive to installation quality than traditional AC systems. A sloppy install creates twice the problems: poor cooling in summer, poor heating in winter, and higher bills all year. Every heat pump we install includes:
- A Manual J load calculation to size the system properly
- Manual S equipment selection to match the load
- A Manual D duct evaluation, because heat pumps often need different airflow than AC only
- Refrigerant charge verified by the superheat and subcool method
- Defrost operation tested at installation
- Auxiliary heat strip tested, for homes that need one
- A 10 year parts warranty plus a 1 year labor warranty as standard
